Community Venture provides transportation services through special contracts with the Supported Living Program. Program members who - for whatever reason - find themselves unable to use other carriers (Winnipeg Transit, Handi Transit, or regular van service) may be offered special transportation by Community Venture staff.

One great feature of Community Venture's transportation service is the "Silver Bullet", our specially-equipped wheelchair van. A donation from the Winnipeg Foundation, the Silver Bullet allows program members who use wheelchairs to get out into the community for volunteer and recreation opportunities.

Recreational outings are about more than just fun and games - staff use outings as an opportunity to teach community orientation and public transit skills.

Some program members travel to Community Venture by public transit, but others use contracted van service. Every time members are trained to use the bus, not only do they feel great about their skills and independence - the provincial government and Manitoba taxpayers save about $250 a month!
